Our Commitment to Anglers & the Fishing Community

At CPS Tackle, fishing isn’t just something we sell — it’s something we live and breathe. We’ve spent decades on the bank, and we know how much this sport means to the people who love it. That’s why we’ve built more than just a tackle shop. We’ve built a community — one that supports anglers of all experience levels, promotes ethical carp fishing, and takes an active role in protecting the future of our waterways.

How CPS Tackle Supports Anglers of All Levels

Whether you’re just getting into carp fishing or have years of experience under your belt, our team is here to help. We’re always happy to talk through your current setup, where you’re fishing, and what you’re targeting — so we can give honest, practical advice that suits your situation.

We’ll chat about your rigs, baiting approach, lake structure, and even how weather conditions might affect where the fish will be. We don’t just point you to products — we talk tactics, fish behaviour, and angling mindset. Whether it’s advising a newcomer on their first rod or helping a seasoned angler tweak their rig for better hook holds, we’re here to support your fishing journey.

Our Commitment to Customer Service & Expertise

When you shop with us, it doesn’t stop at the checkout. We’re always available to help after the sale — whether it’s explaining how to use a product, guiding you through a setup, or sorting a replacement if something goes wrong. We take pride in offering proper aftercare, not just customer service.

If a customer breaks something by accident, and we can get a free replacement from the brand — we’ll do it, no hesitation. We keep in touch with people to make sure they’re 100% happy, and we always try to resolve issues with patience and understanding. You never know what someone’s going through, so we lead with empathy and respect.

Our Involvement in the Fishing Community

CPS Tackle is proud to support the fishing community beyond the shop floor. We’ve helped organise charity events like fundraisers for Phoenix Heroes, a fantastic group that helps veterans through outdoor activities like fishing, football, and cycling.

We also host open shop days where customers can meet some of the biggest names in the angling world, get hands-on with the latest gear, and ask questions directly to the experts. We run demo sessions, sponsor local causes, and always look for ways to encourage the next generation of anglers.

If we spot a young angler in need, we’ll often give them a few bits of kit to help keep the spark alive. That’s what this is all about — giving back to the sport that’s given us so much.

Events & Partnerships

We work closely with the biggest names in the game — like Nash Tackle, who brought their incredible fish-fighting simulator to our shop for one of our open days. Customers could take battle using Nash rods and reels and go head-to-head with virtual species like marlin, sharks, and yahoos — all right here in the store.

Our team also arranges local matches, donates prizes to local charity events, and helps raise money to support disabled anglers, veterans, and young people just starting out. These events aren’t just good fun — they help bring people together and grow the sport in a positive direction.

Ethical Angling & Sustainable Fishing Practices

Fish care is one of our biggest passions. We believe every fish caught should go back in the water in better condition than when it came out. That’s why we only stock fish-safe products, including unhooking mats, cradles, antiseptic sprays, and fish-friendly landing nets — and we always give advice on how to use them properly.

CPS Tackle will not stock anything that risks harming a fish, no matter how popular it might be elsewhere. And if we ever hear about illegal or unethical activity — like setting lines in rivers or lakes to kill fish for food — we report it immediately to the Angling Trust or relevant authorities.

Catch and release isn’t just a method — it’s a mindset that helps protect our fisheries for future generations.

Protecting Aquatic Environments & Conservation Efforts

Looking after the environment goes hand in hand with responsible fishing. We always encourage our customers to leave no trace — and if we’re out fishing and see litter, we’ll clear it away ourselves.

A few years ago, I personally asked Nash Tackle to be the first brand to reduce their plastic packaging and find better alternatives. Since then, we’ve seen a huge shift in the industry — with more and more brands moving from plastic to card. It’s a small change that makes a big difference.

If we ever spot pollution or damage to a waterway, we report it straight away. Anglers are often the first line of defence when it comes to protecting lakes, rivers, and the wildlife that lives in them — and at CPS Tackle, we take that role seriously.
