Back leads are a widely used terminal tackle accessory and are common place in most carp and specialist anglers tackle boxes. They have found favour amongst the legions of anglers who now frequent many of our numerous day ticket venues.
These clever gadgets enable the angler to attach a weight to a slack line just off the rod tip and pin everything down on the deck, greatly reduces the chance of spooking fish and potentially increases the anglers chance of catching (well in theory anyway) The one major design fault found on many back leads is that they come off virtually every time you retrieve your rig, which is most annoying and becomes very expensive.

You have the Low Friction Run Ring, this enable the back lead to slides down the line when setting it into position in the margins, under the rod tips. This new attachment pretty much guarantees that the Backlead is also far less likely to end up around the rod tip during the fight.
The Low Friction Run Ring secondary purpose in life is to help greatly improves bite indication which is a major plus many of the Intelligent Backleads major competitors have neglected to deal with.
Another vastly improved function is how easy it is to attach to the line even in the dark or on those days when your fingers are broke from the cold. All you have to do is run the line up the rubber sleeve attaching the Low Friction Run Ring to the lead weight. Then once you feel the line enter the opening, simply hold the line either side of the Run Ring and pull into place. To ensure the Backlead stays on when retrieving your rigs, simply push the Low Friction Run Ring into the rubber sleeve towards the lead weight to securely lock the Backlead onto your reel line. A simple design change that will save many of us a fortune, it’s simple when they try!!
